PCSD School Emergency Training
Tanque Verde Unified School District (TVUSD) and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) are proud to announce that during the week of June 25th – June 29th the PCSD School Resource Officer Unit will be presenting an active shooter preparedness workshop for school staff from TVUSD and others from around the county. All of the schools served by the School Resource Officer Unit have been invited and several have reserved spaces to attend.
This workshop is being hosted by Tanque Verde High School and will help prepare staff to respond to these types of events in an effort to better protect the students within Pima County. The workshop includes instruction time, tabletop exercises, several real-life scenarios, and a demonstration of law enforcement response to these types of situations.
This workshop represents a collaborative effort between the Sheriff’s Department, Tanque Verde Unified School District, and Tanque Verde High School and Sabino High School drama students to provide a high quality, realistic situational preparedness exercise for administrators, teachers, and support staff within our schools.
Integrated Community Solutions to Active Violence Events (ICSAVE) is conducting Introduction to Bleeding Control Training during these vitally important educational events. We are honored to be a part of this collective effort to better prepare our teachers, administrators and support personnel. Tanque Verde High School’s staff are learning and experiencing the decisive advantages of proactive vs. passive response strategies via numerous live scenario drills and are now better empowered to help save our children’s lives! We want to extend a special thank you to the brave men and women of the various law enforcement agencies that are making these lifesaving presentations and drills possible.
