REALITIES & RESPONSE TO ACTIVE VIOLENCE
Too often, American communities are subjected to the horrors of mass murder. Large, small, rural and urban, there is no template for where these horrors take place. We in the Fire Service must have a response. We must be willing to prepare for active, violent events.
Designed to give you something you can take back to your members and implement, this course will be an intensive, four days of practical skills drill coupled with discussion/lecture. We want to help bridge the gap between military and civilian, police and fire and even volunteer and career. We will not offer easy answers, just attention to detail and help in finding solutions.
In addition, our State Fire School, Active Shooter Course will investigate Active Violence threats and note the successes, challenges and failures of the past two decades. We will hear from experts, survivors and first responders to actual Active Violence events. We will also be featuring the NAEMT’s Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) Course, designed to help Fire/EMS providers prepare for work on these dynamic, potentially violent scenes. To certify and receive a TECC Card, there would normally be an additional $50 fee, however, a TECC Card will be issued to you for a discounted fee of $15, which is automatically included with your total registration fee. This is the best price you will find anywhere!
We can no longer pretend these things only happen to other people. Join us!
This course is in accordance with the Principles of Guidelines Instruction set by the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care and is specifically targeted for representatives of public safety organizations who want to share and proactively develop integrated outreach and response strategies to prevent or mitigate the impact a violent mass casualty incident can have on their communities.
Registration cost is $150.00. All students must have or obtain an AzSTARS EIN number.
Note: To obtain an AzSTARS EIN number, please email Melina Joya at firstname.lastname@example.org.
