BASIC LIFE SUPPORT FOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS
The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.
Intended Audience: This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Examples of job titles that would fall into this category include but are not limited to: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, Respiratory Technician (RT), Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Nurse Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Surgical Technician, Physician, Physician Assistant, and Nurse Practitioner
HEARTSAVER® CPR AED FIRST-AID
This classroom course teaches basic CPR skills such as performing a head tilt-chin lift and giving compressions and breaths. It provides training for anyone who wants to learn basic CPR and obtain a Heartsaver course completion card.
Heartsaver CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. It teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.
This course is appropriate for anyone who is required by their workplace to perform first-aid as part of a workplace emergency response team, as well as for general knowledge for the bystander.
