On Tuesday, July 25th, 216 Blue Ridge Unified School District educators, administrators, support personnel and members from the surrounding community met at Blue Ridge High School and received the knowledge, skills and abilities to better survive an active violence event. Conducted by Integrated Community Solutions to Active Violence Events (ICSAVE), I LIVED (Active Violence Response Course) is a set of proactive, options-based strategies, that increase community members’ chances of survival and bridge the gap between the time a violent event begins, and law enforcement arrives. These participants learned and experienced the decisive advantages of proactive vs. passive response strategies via numerous live scenario drills and are now empowered to help save lives!
